Nico Dorigatti, 2001 in Wiener Neustadt geboren, war zuletzt in Hinauf zu den Sternen am Theater Freiburg sowie in Audienz in den Kasematten Wiener Neustadt zu sehen.

Neben seinem Schauspielstudium, das er kommendes Jahr abschließen wird, schreibt er seine eigenen Theaterstücke und führt Regie.

Melinda Franzke ist Kontrabassistin und E-Bassistin. Sie studiert an der mdw – Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien Bass Jazz/Popularmusik und Klassischen Kontrabass. In diversen Formationen mit Hip Hop- und Jazzeinflüssen bringt sie sich musikalisch ein. Ihre Mission ist es das genreübergreifende männlich geprägte Musikverständnis mit neuen Perspektiven zu erfrischen.

Tobias Jonas, 1995 in Salzburg geboren, studierte Film und Multimedia Arts an der FH Salzburg und ist Mitglied im Kunstverein „d i t o“ in der Hermanngasse 18, 1070. Neben eigenen Filmprojekten ist er für zahlreiche Videoinstallationen und -designs am Burgtheater verantwortlich. In der kommenden Spielzeit arbeitet er als freischaffender Videodesigner zum zweiten Mal mit der australischen Regisseurin Adena Jacobs für Nosferatu zusammen.

Stefan Kemminger ist in einer Vielzahl von musikalisch unterschiedlichen Projekten als Schlagzeuger tätig und seit einigen Jahren fixer Bestandteil der jungen Wiener Jazzszene. Nach seinem Jazz-Schlagzeug Studium an der MUK – Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität der Stadt Wien studiert er nun am iPop – Institut für Popularmusik der mdw – Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien.

Julia Novohradsky wurde 2001 in St. Pölten geboren und studiert ab Herbst im zweiten Jahr Schauspiel am Max Reinhardt Seminar der mdw – Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien. In der Produktion Wir sind, wie wir waren beim isaFestival 2023 ist sie in ihrem ersten Theaterstück zu sehen.

Ulla Pilz studied singing and composition at the MUK ‒ Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna.
She works as a freelance presenter, singer, actress, author, director, music mediator, and host of music programs for Austrian radio Oe1. She played roles at Theater an der Wien, Burgtheater, Wiener Festwochen and many others. As a music mediator and presenter she collaborated with Musikverein Wien and Wiener Konzerthaus, Jeunesse, Brucknerhaus and Bruckner Orchester Linz, Styriarte, Vienna Philharmonic and Wiener Symphoniker, ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, Tonkünstler Orchester Niederösterreich, Ensemble Kontrapunkte and others.
Ulla Pilz is a Senior Artist at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz.

Der gebürtige Wiener Gitarrist Wanja Rosenthal zählt zur neuen Generation von aufstrebenden Jazzmusikern, die mit Erfindergeist überraschen. Als Teil von diversen Formationen bringt er gemeinsam mit seinen Mitmusiker_innen, stetig neue Perspektiven und Ansätze im Jazz künstlerisch zum Ausdruck.

Laura Schlittke, 2001 geboren, wuchs in einem kleinen Ort namens Luthe in der Nähe von Hannover auf. Sie begann ihre künstlerische Laufbahn im Schultheater. Mit ihrer Theatergruppe nahm sie an vielen Festivals teil und sammelte ihre ersten größeren Bühnenerfahrungen. Schauspielerin wollte sie schon immer werden und so studiert sie bald im 3. Jahr am Max Reinhardt Seminar der mdw. Wir sind, wie wir waren ist ihre erste öffentliche Produktion seit Studienbeginn, im September wird sie in Solastalgia im Burgtheater Kasino zu sehen sein.

Lukas Schöppl studierte Philosophie und Deutsche Philologie in Wien, Cambridge und Berlin. Seit 2021 studiert er Theaterregie am Max Reinhardt Seminar der mdw, wo seine erste Arbeit eine Dramatisierung von Robert Walsers Jakob von Gunten war. Darüber hinaus szenische Lesungen und Regieassistenzen für Theater­- und Opernproduktionen. Wir sind, wie wir waren ist seine erste größere Inszenierung und sein erstes absurdes Theaterstück.

“The Simply Quartet doesn’t play in front of, but explicitly for their audience, which makes everyone feel spoken to.” …words used by the “Süddeutsche Zeitung” in June 2022, aptly describing one of the Simply Quartet’s many facets which makes them an outstanding quartet. “From Chinese philosophy comes the idea of a great entirety in which opposites depend on and complement each other. Based on this idea, we combine complexity and simplicity. As four different individuals, together we shape the unity of the string quartet, the royal genre of chamber music.”
The Simply Quartet is continuously searching for a deep understanding of the inherent language of music: from the early classical works to modern string quartet literature. They place great emphasis on combining the three contrasting cultures (China, Austria, Norway) upon which they draw their inspiration to develop a musical language of their own; by exploring works from each of their cultures, they deepen their knowledge of different sound worlds.
Originally founded in Shanghai under the auspices of Jensen Horn-Sin Lam, the quartet moved to Vienna to intensively explore the essence and origins of quartet playing – at the Joseph Haydn Institute of the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, the ensemble studies with Johannes Meissl. In addition, the quartet owes valuable experiences and impulses to its years at the European Chamber Music Academy. The quartet captures further influences in Günter Pichler’s class at the Reina Sofía School of Music in Madrid, where it was a member in 2020 and 2021.
The Simply Quartet has already been awarded four first prizes at renowned chamber music competitions: At the International Carl Nielsen Competition in Copenhagen & the “Quatuor á Bordeaux” in 2019, the “Franz Schubert and the Music of Modernity” in Graz in 2018 and in 2017 at the International Joseph Haydn Chamber Music Competition in Vienna.
At the Vienna Konzerthaus, the Simply Quartet was part of the Great Talent programme (2020-2022), and in the 2021/2022 season, they were one of the selected ensembles of the ECHO Rising Stars series with debuts at concert halls including BOZAR Brussels, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Palau de la Música Catalana, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg or the Luxembourg & Paris Philharmonies.
Primarius Danfeng Shen plays a violin by Giovanni Battista Guadagnini from 1753, which is at his disposal thanks to a generous loan from MERITO String Instruments Trust GmbH. Antonia Rankersberger plays a violin by Camillo Camilli from 1736 (Mantua), made available to her by the Austrian National Bank.

Trio Chagall has recently gained the attention of the musical milieu as a winner of the Second overall Prize (First Prize not awarded) at the 20th edition of the Premio “Trio di Trieste”, where it was also given the special prizes “Dario de Rosa” for best performance of a piece by Schumann, “Fernanda Selvaggio” for best Trio of the competition and “Young award” as most promising ensemble finalist. With an average age of 20 years, the Trio is the youngest chamber group ever awarded in the history of the competition.

These are only the latest in a series of successes for Trio Chagall, which include the 1 st overall prize of the chamber music category at the Amadeus Factory competition (2018) – the first talent designed for young artists of the Italian Conservatories – and the numerous accomplishments at the Concorso di Giussano in 2019, where the Trio was awarded the 1st overall prize, the special prize “Il Progresso”, the prize “Città di Giussano”, presented to the best contestants of all the categories.

Trio Chagall was founded in 2013 by Lorenzo Nguyen (piano), Edoardo Grieco (violin) and Francesco Massimino (cello) within the Conservatory of Music “G.Verdi” of Turin. The name of the Trio is intended as a tribute to the famous painter Marc Chagall, who has always been a deep source of inspiration has always been admired for his ties to music and his strong expressive power through the use of colour.

The Trio is now continuing its studies under the guidance of Antonio Valentino and the Debussy Trio and is attending the High specialisation Master’s degree in chamber music with Trio di Parma and Pierpaolo Maurizzi.
The ensemble also receives the precious advice of Marco Zuccarini, Amiram Ganz and Christian Schuster from the Altenberg Trio Wien and Bruno Giuranna (Trio d’Archi Italiano), with whom they performed the Mozart Piano Quartet KV.493 in 2017. From 2020 Trio Chagall is supported by De Sono Foundation.

Trio Chagall is involved in an intense concert activity all over Italy performing in prestigious venues (Vatican Museums in Rome, Milan Theatre dal Verme and Conservatory, Theatre Giuseppe Verdi in Trieste, Sala Sassu in Sassari) and as a guest of Unione Musicale, Società del Quartetto, Accademia Chigiana, ACM – Chamber Music of Trieste and Società Umanitaria.

Gemma Vannuzzi wurde 1998 in Florenz geboren und wuchs in Sofia und Wien auf. Nachdem sie ein Studium der Rechtswissenschaften und Philosophie an der Universität Wien begann, sammelte sie erste Erfahrungen im Theaterclub der Jungen Burg. Sie war Teil der Produktion die zukunft reicht uns nicht (klagt, kinder, klagt) (Regie: Elsa-Sophie Jach und Thomas Köck) am Schauspielhaus Wien, welche zu den Autorentheatertagen am Deutschen Theater Berlin eingeladen wurde und für den Nestroy-Preis nominiert war.

2019 begann Gemma ihr Schauspielstudium an der Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität in Linz. 2021 stand sie in Ak und die Geschichte der Menschheit im Rahmen des Schäxpir-Theaterfestivals auf der Bühne. In den nächsten Jahren arbeitete sie im Rahmen des Schauspielstudios am Landestheater Linz u.a. mit Anna Marboe, Sara Ostertag und Peter Wittenberg zusammen. Ab der Spielzeit 2023/24 ist sie festes Ensemblemitglied des Jungen Theaters am Landestheater Linz.

Dr. Laura Wiesböck is a sociologist and author based in Vienna. She holds a doctorate from the University of Vienna. Throughout her career she had international exchanges at Oxford University, University of Ghana and National Taiwan University among others. Her research interests lie in social inequality with a focus on gender, poverty and labor market. In her teaching, she also devotes herself to topics such as coolness as a cultural practice or sociology of love. The scholar was granted several prizes in recognition of her academic work. In addition to scientific articles Laura Wiesböck regularly communicates research perspectives to the public through media interviews, her personal social media channels and public lectures. Apart from her academic work, she is committed to enforcing the right to a non-violent and economically independent life for women.
