A masterclass filled with fresh ideas, creative projects, and new perspectives!
You’ll have the chance to develop an innovative concert format with others, which will be performed during the 2025/26 season at the Wiener Konzerthaus and TONALi in Hamburg.What to expect?
We see our work at the intersection of music and society.The isaCommunity takes place in summer 2025 on the campus of the mdw-University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. During a week of hands-on workshops, you’ll combine artistic work with social engagement. Together with like-minded individuals, you’ll develop your ideas and bring them to life on stage.Your environment:

💡 Practical workshops: Turn your ideas into reality!
💡 Rehearsals: Bring your repertoire and integrate it into a collaboratively developed concert format.
💡 Reflection: What does musical community work mean to you — and what can we achieve with it?
💡 Concert design brainstorm: Create new concert concepts.
💡 Panels and field research: We are developing a panel discussion with other students as our target group and we will also immerse ourselves into Vienna to work directly with the people.The highlight

Target Group
Who is isaCommunity for?
This is the right place for you if:
✅ you are a singer or musician interested in interdisciplinary projects, community work, and social issues AND
✅ you are at least in your 4th semester at a music university or pop academy, OR
✅ you are a graduate (maximum of 3 years post-graduation, up to 33 years old) OR
✅ if you possess exceptional skills on an instrument or with your voice. There are no stylistic boundaries, classical Western instruments, popular and traditional instruments are equally welcome. (Artistic suitability will be assessed via your application video.) -

Workshops, Lectures, Coaching Sessions
Alongside the master classes given by well-known, leading artistic personalities, isa also offers participants additional learning opportunities in the form of workshops, lectures, and coaching sessions.
All supplementary workshops and lectures are accessible only in combination with a master class and are included in the course fee. -
Application and Application Requirements
Application deadline: January 2- April 15, 2025
Requirements:
🎥 Create a short introduction video (max. 3 minutes, in English).
🎵 Send us a musical video (unedited, max. 12 months old – no professional recording required).

Fees
Course tuition fee:
one week € 430In justified cases, grants of up to €230 can be awarded upon application to the head of the masterclass.
Master class including practice opportunities
Participation in workshops and lectures.
Free admission to all concerts of the isaFestival.The course fee must be paid by July 1, 2025, via bank transfer, after receiving confirmation of participation.
From July 1, 2025 the course fee can only be reimbursed in proven cases of force majeure (e.g. illness, accident, death in the family, etc.). In no case will the registration fee be refunded.
